That 70’s Remodel was a fun exterior only remodel. This home located in the heart of Sandy, Utah was built in the 1970’s with some poor building techniques. We had a tight budget and a goal of tightening the envelope, keeping water out and making it more efficient. We blower door tested the home before we started and it came in at 8 ACH, our final blower door test was down to a 3.8 ACH! As a result, this home will now have a much more efficient use of the HVAC system with lower utility bills.
The entry of the home was dark, dirty and uninviting. We brightened the exterior materials up and added recessed cans to bring the light. The new front door was painted black to complement the black garage door and bring contrast to the entry. Welcoming guests with a beautiful covered porch.
When we first visited the home the two sliding doors off the back had a poor temporary set of stairs. We were able to build two beautiful cedar stair sets with the Cinch railing systems. This gave guests a safe way to use the rear yard.
The neutral colors complimented with the black accents made this exterior pop. The homeowner selected some great finishes and products that will look timeless for years to come.
